Denver – Digital Initiatives Librarian

The Digital Initiatives Librarian reports to the Associate Dean for Scholarly Communication & Collections Services and leads an innovative Library Technology Services Department that develops and maintains a suite of flagship software, liaises with the University’s Information Technology Division (IT@DU), coordinates support for vendor-provided core applications, and works with IT support specialists to coordinate desktop support. Supervising two full-time developers and additional hourly staff, and working alongside a Digital User Experience Librarian, this position also helps build, maintain, and enhance Special Collections @ DU (built with node.JS, Elasticsearch and JavaScript), a Drupal-based website, two internal databases (one for instruction assessment, another for donor-management), and several other applications.

The Digital Initiatives Librarian provides strategic vision and direction for this department and for Libraries-wide technology decisions, such as whether vendor-hosted, open-source, or home-grown applications are most appropriate. This position manages projects related to these technologies, its priorities being to meet user needs, build service models, and maintain a sustainable and accessible technology portfolio for the department and the Libraries. Working closely with the Digital User Experience Librarian and stakeholders across the university, as well as external partners such as the Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries, the Digital Initiatives Librarian continues a strong and proud DU tradition of technical innovation reaching back to the earliest days of library automation.

Denver – Digital User Experience Librarian

The Digital User Experience Librarian reports to the Associate Dean for Scholarly Communication & Collections Services and is an important member of the Library Technology Services Department. The person in this position conducts user experience (UX) research and usability testing in order to continually improve the usability and accessibility of user-facing technologies. They are primarily responsible for the Libraries website and discovery layer and also provide UX support for other applications, such as Digital Commons @ DU and Special Collections @ DU. The Digital User Experience Librarian works to ensure the needs of users are at the forefront of all technology decisions, and cooperates closely to this end with campus units such as IT@DU, Marketing & Communications, the Disability Services Program and the Office of Teaching & Learning, as well as vendors and internal colleagues. The position leads the Libraries Web Committee, is a standing member of the Assessment and Metadata & Discovery Committees, and supervises hourly staff who support efforts in usability research and accessibility remediation.

Denver – Young Adult and Media Collection Specialist

The position closes next Friday, May 31.

The Young Adult and Media Collection Specialist Librarian participates in building relevant, high interest, print and digital collections (including fiction, nonfiction, graphic novels and Manga) for young adults age 13-18, and physical media collections, including DVDs and CDs for all ages, as well as any other selection areas as determined by the needs of the department.

  • A Master’s in Library Science from an ALA accredited institution or plans to receive one within 90 days of hire.

High Plains – Career and Workforce Development Librarian

The Centennial Park Library of the High Plains Library District is seeking a Spanish speaker to fill the role of Career and Workforce Development Librarian.

Our centrally located, newly remodeled library is one of the busiest in the district. We want our guests who speak languages other than English to feel welcomed in our spaces and services. A successful candidate is a central part of this effort.

Denver – Library outreach specialist

DPL is hiring a Library Outreach Specialist (Youth and Family Library Outreach Specialist) in the Mobile Services and Outreach Department to help in the development of strategic library outreach and community engagement, specifically to youth and families. This role will work to deliver and design library services for a diverse customer base, strengthen community connections, and represent the Denver Public Library to stakeholders and the community. In this position, you will lead the planning of and participation in special events. You will utilize mobile tools, including driving large vehicles, to increase library presence in the community connecting with students and providing presentations and resources in English and Spanish. 


Jefferson County – Bilingual DEI Assistant

The Bilingual Assistant will help with system support duties including short translations and proofing/editing in Spanish, administrative support with orders for the Spanish collection and other duties as needed. The right candidate will be organized and a self-motivated individual who can meet deadlines.

Required – Fluent in reading, speaking, and writing in English and Spanish.

Preferred – Demonstrated experience in translation and proofreading with a keen eye for detail.

Preferred – Proven ability to prioritize tasks and independently manage workflow.
