REFORMA Colorado supports active recruitment of bilingual and bicultural library staff to meet the information needs of the Latino and Spanish-speaking community.
The REFORMA Colorado Scholarship provides financial assistance to encourage and enable Latino/a/x/e, Hispanic, or Chicano/a identifying individuals to pursue or advance a career in Library and Information Science. REFORMA Colorado established in 2021 a $1,000 scholarship to be awarded annually for the academic year. It is granted for graduate study in the field of Library and Information Science. The $1,000 scholarship can be used to help pay for costs incurred during the 2024/2025 academic school year.

Important Dates for the 2024 Scholarship Program
Applications will be accepted beginning June 15, 2024.
Deadline for submission of application form and supporting material for the REFORMA Colorado Scholarship is July 15, 2024.
Deadline for submission of letter of recommendation is August 1, 2024.
Announcement of winner and distribution of funds: August 15, 2024.

Scholarship Eligibility
- Currently attend or have been accepted to an ALA-accredited institution. (PhD. or MLIS)
- Identify as Latino/a/x/e, Hispanic, or Chicano/a, as well as be committed to working with the Latino community.
- Be a paid REFORMA Colorado member.
- Previous winners of a REFORMA Colorado Scholarship are ineligible to apply.
All application packets must include:
- Completed application form. (See the DOWNLOAD link below)
- Current resume or CV
- Enrollment in or acceptance to a library/information science school.
- One recommendation (excluding family members) from someone knowledgeable about your intellectual abilities, educational background, and personal character.
